American Character’s most popular doll was Tiny Tears, introduced in 1950 Terry Teardrop was a copy. This X-mas store display had coupons dated 1956 where you could purchase this doll for $7.98. The doll is still mounted for the store just as it was in 1956 with clean window, side bar advertisning panels and the original coupon book. This gift set included the 12″ doll with all the bathing accessorries. All are still tied inside the box. Stores with this promotion would each get one store display. This is the only surviving example we are aware of. There is little to no information as to who made this doll nor which stores they were offered. A truly one of a kind nearly 70 year old doll made for display only and would be a great addition to a Tiny Tears collection
