On average, it takes about one hour for each card to be made. The majority of quilling artists are women, all of whom have been trained and employed by a certified Fair Trade Federation organization. This ensures that each artisan earns a sustainable wage, receives ample benefits such as healthcare for themselves and their families, and has the opportunity to build their career.
